I love a good musical! Honk is on at The Belgrade Theatre in Coventry and it’s not one to miss! After a hugely successful run in London, it’s finally touring!
I took my friend Amelia to see the show, we both had such a lovely evening. Amelia is 13 and she found it funny, loved the music and dancing and thoroughly enjoyed the storyline, we both said it was like the story The Ugly duckling, but fun, detailed and alot of music!
The message behind the show was amazing, talking about diversity, how not everyone is the same and that’s ok! There were some very powerful messages behind the story that children and some adults need to hear. It’s so important to teach that and what better way than behind a show and stories. Anti Bullying, not everyone being the same and also not to go off with strangers just some of the topics spoken about.
From start to finish the dancing, singing and acting were on point! The costume changes were amazing and we loved all the little effects!
I went to bed humming some of the songs, they’re so catchy!
There were some great illusions and surprises. Lots of funny jokes and moments. It’s always much appreciated when there are adult jokes for us to have a giggle too as well.
Our favourite character and scene were when we got to meet the frog, he was just amazing and so fun!
The cast was fantastic really gave everything to their characters, you could see there passionate and enjoy what they do!
Honk is perfect for all the family everyone left with a smile on their faces!
As always, The Belgrade was amazing, we are so lucky to have such an amazing venue in the heart of Coventry. Seeing a show is such a lovely treat and really helps you escape life for a few hours and be immersed in the show!
Be sure to see the show before it leaves!
