Drug Store Foundation | Review

In this mini-series, I will be reviewing drugstore makeup that I have used. I will share my thoughts, how I like to apply it and the results It has on my skin!

Starting with foundation, I have tried so many different brands and types. Finding the perfect one can be such a challenge and we all want that flawless, airbrushed looking skin!

Finding the perfect match can also be a struggle, I know my perfect shade in a few foundations, but I like to use this website to help colour match me to other foundations!

Skin types can have a huge effect on how the foundation can sit on your skin if you have oily skin I recommend a foundation with a matte finish if you have dry skin I recommend you try an oil base foundation. I always use a primer before applying a foundation as I feel it helps to keep everything in place and stops it caking in problem areas.

I feel I have used these products for a good amount of time to give you a good opinion of them. My skin type will be different to yours, I’m pretty pale, I suffer from dry skin around my nose and T-zone, blemishes and the odd mark or spot! I shall be doing a skin care routine for you soon.

L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24hour Matte Mattifying Foundation £7.99

Loreal Infallible Matte Foundation

In L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24hour Matte Foundation, I’m the shade “12 Naturel Rose”, this foundation is a great Matte foundation and I love it! I have repurchased it more than once! It doesn’t dry my skin out like normal Matte products and it’s really easy to blend. It’s a medium to high coverage and lasts on my skin for around 6 hours before I start to notice it fading and drying in my problem areas. I find I don’t need to use a lot of setting powder, it dry’s nice to touch. This foundation stays true to colour when applied and I don’t find it oxidises on my skin (reacting to oxygen causing it to change colour or tone). When applying, I do find I need to work quite quickly, using a damp Real Techniques Miracle Complexion sponge in dabbing motions to build up smooth even coverage. I would recommend L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24hour Matte Foundation for those who have oily skin. I love the fact it’s in a squeeze tube as it’s easy to travel with, and once I have finished I cut it open to get every last drop out! Use it alongside its primer “L’Oréal infallible Primer Matte Base for even better results!

L’Oréal Paris True Match Foundation £9.99

Loreal Paris Super blendable Foundation

In L’Oréal Paris True Match Foundation I’m the shade “Rose Ivory”. Now, this foundation is lush!! I absolutely love it! The colour is perfect for me and the way it sits on my skin is amazing, it looks and feels like a second skin and I barely know it’s there! It doesn’t cake around my nose like most foundations! I sometimes prefer this over my Mac! Yes, I did just say that! It’s a medium to buildable coverage and is super easy to work and blend! A little goes a long way, it distributes so well. I do like to set the L’Oréal True Match Foundation with a light setting powder, especially around my problem areas. This is perfect for everyday wear as it lasts up to 8 hours on my skin, if not longer. I have fallen asleep with this foundation on before, I know it’s bad but the next day my skin looked the same apart from it had rubbed away a little on my nose! The colour doesn’t oxidise, it stays the same throughout the day! I Highly recommend you try this one out it’s my fave!

Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation £7.99

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation

In Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation I’m the shade “200 Soft Beige”. This foundation has been my go-to for years, I’ve been through so many of these beauties! It has a medium to buildable coverage and applies so well with a damp beauty blender. You don’t need much as a little goes a long way, it lasts all day without the need to top up. I like to set it with a loose translucent powder as the shade I have is a little darker than what it could be, it’s perfect when I have a tan. That’s one thing that could be improved, it hasn’t got a great range of shades and tones to choose from. It has an SPF of 20 which I love! Its super moisturising and rarely cakes up on my skin! Deff one to try, and for the price, it’s a bargain!

Please leave me a comment below with your recommendations and go to foundations! I will be online shopping this weekend looking for some new foundations I can try out for future reviews!
